Our Featured Pet.....Emma
Emma came to North Star Broder Collie Rescue very pregnant. She was pulled from a Michigan shelter where animals are routinely sold for research by a wonderful Sheltie rescue who kept her safe until she found her way to Border Collie Rescue. One week after her entry into our program, Emmy (as she is affectionately known) gave birth to five beautiful little babies—four girls and one boy. Although we don't know for certain who the father is, the babies looks to be mostly Border Collie, perhaps mixed with Australian Shepherd.
Emma is a very sweet and affectionate girl who loves to be around people. She's an avid frisbee game player with a near 100% catch record! She's a high-drive, high-flyer with a go-go-go attitude who's willing to play a game of disc any time day or night. Even though she's a high energy dog, she relishes her time lounging around with her people watching a good movie and receiving tons of good scratches and love. As long as she has an outlet for her energy, Emmy is a lovely dog to be around, has a perfect recall and is currently in training learning the life skills she will need to be a model citizen of the canine world. Emmy is also learning socialization skills as she has some issues with regard to unfamiliar dogs entering her space.
There are no more puppies in Emmy's future as she has been spayed, is up to date on all of her vaccinations, is heart worm negative and has had a tooth pulled that had broken off.
